Let's Play Ball - Coed Softball
Gate City participates each year in the Interfaith Softball League. This league is comprised of about a dozen Christian churhes in our community. The season runs from April through July. Games are played once or twice per week on either Sunday afternoons or Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday evenings. We welcome all skill levels. Our goal in being a part of this league is to demonstrate unity in the Body of Christ through sports. Winning is great but as a team we want to be known as the most friendly, supportive and encouraging players in the league. Although how we play matters, what is more important is how we conduct ourselves as we play.
The requirements are:
1. You must want to have fun and cheer not only for our team but our opponents as well.
2. You must attend church services at least 2 times per month.
3. You must be at least 15 years old during the season.
4. You must attend all practices and games unless you notify the coach in advance that you can't make it.
5. You must show the love of Christ in your conduct, language and sportsmanship toward your teammates and the other teams we play.
There is a small fee $15-$25 each year for Team Shirts and equipment.
