MOPS - Mothers of Preschoolers
Meets every 2nd and 4th Thursday at the church at 9am
(There is a $75 annual fee)
MOPS stands for "Mothers of Preschoolers" - but don't let that confuse you. MOPS is about meeting the needs of every mother of a child from conception through kindergarten with local groups of moms just like you. Whether you're urban, suburban, rural, stay-at-home, working, teen, adoptive, special-needs, single or married, MOPS is for you! MOPS is dedicated to the message that "mothering matters." Better moms raise better children and make the world a better place.
MOPS is an international organization providing an opportunity for moms to meet other moms and make the journey of motherhood together. We share our experiences, learn from one another, and offer support for one another. MOPS meetings are a wonderful place to learn, build long-lasting friendships, and have fun.
Being moms is what brings us together and allows us to build a community, and a MOPS group allows you to meet and build friendships with other moms in your local community. The early years of being a mom are just as foundational to you as they are to your baby, and those years are filled with unique needs that other moms instinctively understand. A typical MOPS meeting includes a time for sharing food and conversation followed by a presentation of information relevant to mothers raising preschoolers. The group covers subjects such as childrearing, marriage, relationships, cooking, homemaking and creative crafts.
MOPS welcomes women from throughout the community. You do not need to be a member of Gate City to join our MOPS group. In fact our MOPS group is interdenominational and we seek to welcome and serve all who wish to be involved.
